Workout tracker app
How to choose a workout tracker app.
Tracking only helps if logging is quick and the numbers come back to you at the right moment. Here is what to check, and how Lvl Up does it.
Short answer
A good workout tracking app makes logging a set take seconds, shows what you did last time while you train, and turns your history into progress you can read. Lvl Up logs weight and reps per set, shows your last session, keeps notes per exercise and tracks streaks and XP.

What a workout tracker should record
At a minimum: the exercise, weight, reps and the date. Better trackers also keep the small things that make next week easier, like seat height or a form cue, and show them the moment the exercise comes up again.
The test of a tracker is the next session. If you cannot see what you did last time without searching, you will stop logging.
How Lvl Up tracks your training
During a set you see last time, today’s target and a suggested weight. Ghost replay lets your previous session play back set by set, so you can see whether you are ahead or behind as you train. Notes that stay keep per-exercise details such as seat 4, pad 3, elbows tucked.
A finished workout pays XP for the sets you logged, and levels come from XP. Your streak counts planned training days you completed, and rest days never break it.
Progress you can trust
Only sets with at least one rep count, a second workout on the same day is recorded but pays no XP, and a skipped assessment check is treated as unknown, never as zero. Training autopsy keeps what your logs show apart from what might explain it, so the app does not pretend to know more than it does.
A checklist for comparing workout tracker apps
